Frequently Asked Questions
Will a LSD exhaust system void my new car warranty?
The only time this can happen is if the exhaust itself is the direct cause of warranty issue in question. If a dealer denies your warranty claim only because the car is modified with a Legal Speed Designs exhaust and the vehicle system failure was not a direct result of the installation and use of a LSD exhaust, please refer him to the Magnusson Moss Warranty act. You can download the Magnusson Moss Warranty act from SEMA’s website at: www.enjoythedrive.com/san
What is the warranty on my LSD exhaust?
Legal Speed Designs warrants to the consumer that all LSD exhausts will be free from defects in material and workmanship for the life of the vehicle. Products that do fall under warranty will be repaired or replaced at LSD's discretion, when determined by LSD that the product failed due to defects in material or workmanship. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the LSD exhaust. In no event shall this warranty exceed the original purchase price of the LSD exhaust nor shall LSD be responsible for special, incidental or consequential damages or cost incurred due to the failure of this product. Warranty claims to LSD must be transportation prepaid and accompanied with dated proof of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the product and is non-transferable. All implied warranties shall be limited in duration to the said lifetime of the original vehicle. Improper use or installation, accident, abuse, unauthorized repairs or alterations voids this warranty. LSD disclaims any liability for consequential damages due to breach of any written or implied warranty on all products manufactured by LSD. Warranty returns will only be accepted by LSD when accompanied by a valid Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Product must be received by LSD within 20 days of the date RMA is issued. Warranty credit will be issued after inspection of the product.
Are LSD exhausts smog legal?
Exhausts are not considered emissions devices, therefore they are smog legal and do not require a C.A.R.B exemption.
Are LSD exhausts within the decibel limit allowed by state law?
Every state has different laws when it comes to exhaust sound ratings. In General, most states have a 95 Db limit for exhausts. All of our current systems will pass the sound level with a factory catalytic converter and downpipe.
Can my exhaust get louder over time?
Yes, any exhaust that is built with a resonator or muffler will get louder as time goes on. The reason for this is the packing and absorbent materials within the muffler eventually break down and start to lose their effectiveness. It will not always be noticeable or happen quickly, it really depends on the quality of the system and the overall use / driving style of the operator.
Does LSD require a "buy-in" to become a dealer?
There is no buy-in required in order to become a dealer of our products. We do however have multiple discount structures for dealers who stock the product line.
What products are the focus of LSD manufacturing?
Currently we have a our manufacturing emphasis on our exhaust, Intake and Drivetrain systems. With multiple options in each area soon to come, continue to check back with us for new releases.
What kind of Warranty is offered on LSD Drivetrain Products?
All of our clutch and flywheels carry a 6 month "no hassle" warranty. This warranty includes anything and everything including standard wear and tear. This is just one of our many strengths that seperate us from other manufacturers in the industry. As with our exhausts, worksmanship and manufacturer defects are covered with a lifetime warranty.
